Shoulder Pain
Shoulder Pain
Rotator cuff – these can be acute and/or chronic. They can include muscle strains, partical or complete tears. Overuse injuries can include tendinopathy.
There are many different structures in the shoulder that can cause pain. These include some but not all:
-
Shoulder instability. This occurs most often in young people and athletes.
-
Rotator cuff tear. The rotator cuff is a group of four muscles of the upper arm. These muscles can become injured from overuse activities and direct trauma for example a fall.
-
Frozen shoulder. This extreme stiffness in the shoulder can happen at any age, but more commonly in middle aged men and women, common also in diabetics.
-
Overuse/strains. Similar to how tears occur from over use activity and direct trauma.
-
Arthritis. Age related degenerative changes in the joint.
-
Acromioclavicular Joint pain (AC joint)
-
Referred pain
-
Labral injury
