Disc Bulge “slipped disc”

A disc can be described as a small jelly like structure sitting between two vertebrae. As with other parts of the body, discs are prone to degeneration. Some causes of disc injury include; prolonged sitting, obesity, age related degeneration, poor posture, overuse injuries and trauma. Symptoms can include; sharp pain in the neck or back and into the leg, increased pain on coughing and sneezing, muscle spasm, sciatica type symptoms, numbness and pins and needles in the upper or lower limb. Recovery can take from 6-12 weeks.
